Learn the finest techniques from a real Broadway performer who's toured the country in many leading roles.
Betina Hershey studied at Studio E until she was accepted into LaGuardia HS of the Performing Arts as a dance major. She went on to dance at the Joyce (Zvi Gotheiner & Dancers), City Center (Pirates of Penzance, Iolanthe), toured as Meg in the Broadway National Tour of Phantom of the Opera (Meg), as Anybodys in the tour of West Side Story that played the LaScala Opera House in Milan, Italy, performed the lindy role in Swing, was Luisa in The Fantasticks, etc.
After making her living as a performer (singing, dancing, acting, writing songs, playing guitar, partner dancing), she has recently discovered the joys of teaching. She now runs the Garden Players, a musical theater troupe in Forest Hills for kids K-9, teaches advanced jazz and ballet at Wagner College, teaches “Mad Hot Ballroom”-style ballroom in the public schools and has choreographed and performed various swing, foxtrot, waltz and Argentine tango numbers to perform and teach as far away as Japan. She is also a singer/songwriter, musical theater writer, and poet. Betina is so excited to be returning to the place where all of her training started.
