| Melissa is thrilled to be on the faculty at Studio E. Melissa holds a B.F.A. in Theatre from New York University- Tisch School of the Arts, where she studied dance, voice, and musical theatre at Cap 21 studios and abroad in London. Melissa has been studying dance for almost 20 years, she is also an actress, singer, musician, and more. She has performed, directed and choreographed in numerous regional theatres around NYC and across the country.
Melissa is a teaching artist for the “Dancing Classrooms” program for the American Ballroom Theatre (as seen in the movies Mad Hot Ballroom and Take the lead). Melissa also teaches private Piano and Voice in Kew Gardens.
Melissa teaches a high-energy Ballroom class including both Latin and Smooth dances. Focusing on proper technique, excellent leading and following skills, and musicality, she teaches a range of moves to instill her students with a passion for music and dance while encouraging them to take chances and trust themselves and their talent. Melissa’s attention to detail, along with her patience and dedication as an instructor, create a relaxed, fun and friendly atmosphere.
