Michelle Siegel's artistic experience traverses a broad spectrum of dance forms, embracing styles such as Ballet, Contemporary, Modern, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, African and other African-based forms. Michelle graduated with a B.A. in dance from Hunter College. As a performer, she has worked with various companies, independent choreographers, and music artists. Michelle is currently a company member of Urban Dance Collective and The Umbrella Company. She has worked with choreographers Niles Ford, Nathan Trice, and has performed with Peniel Guerrier for Summerstage and as a leading soloist for Kriye Bode: Colloquium on Haitian Dance and Drum, at the Alvin Ailey Citigroup Theater. She has also performed in works for the International Choreographers Festival through Staten Island Ballet. She has taught master classes and performed at the OPEN LOOK Festival in St. Petersburg, Russia, as well as in both studio and university settings throughout New York City and the surrounding area. Michelle has choreographed and performed in live concerts, televised events, and music videos in such venues as the United Palace Theater; working with artists like Latin Grammy nominated AnaĆs and renowned Haitian band, Carimi. Michelle has been a devoted teacher at Studio E since 2003, and currently teaches Jazz, Tap, and Street Jazz classes. She is also the Artistic Director for several of Studio E's productions including renditions of Peter Pan, Through the Decades, and Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. |
